Batuk Bhairav is a revered manifestation of Lord Shiva, embodying both youthful innocence and formidable power. Worshiped predominantly in Tantric traditions, Batuk Bhairav serves as a protector, guide, and remover of obstacles for devotees seeking spiritual growth and worldly success.
Origin and Significance
The name “Batuk” translates to “child,” highlighting this deity’s youthful form, while “Bhairav” denotes the fierce aspect of Shiva. Batuk Bhairav is considered one of the eleven Rudras, specifically the fifth incarnation, symbolizing the balance between innocence and power. He is often depicted as a young boy with a blue or black complexion, three eyes, and four arms holding a trident (trishula), a drum (damaru), a skull, and a club (khatvanga).
